Sandvik

Overview

Deswik, founded in 2008 in Brisbane and acquired by Sandvik in April 2022, provides mine planning and operational management software for both surface and underground mining operations. Deswik has approximately 300 employees across 14 offices in 10 countries, with software deployed at 1,330+ mining operations [1].

Products

Deswik Spatial

3D spatial modelling and visualisation for mine design.

Deswik Planning

Mine scheduling and planning for underground and surface operations:

  • Activity-based scheduling
  • Resource optimisation
  • Life-of-mine planning
  • Open pit drill and blast design
  • Multi-pit optimisation

Deswik MDM (Mine Data Management)

Central data management platform for mining operations.

Deswik OPS

Operational management and tracking:

  • Real-time production monitoring
  • Task management
  • Equipment tracking

Deswik Operator

Mobile app extending Deswik OPS to the field. Operators receive tasks on tablets or phones (Android/iOS) and report progress back, closing the loop between planning and execution. Works with or without network coverage.

Deswik ORB

Real-time underground operations management platform integrating planning with execution.

Integration with Sandvik

Deswik forms part of Sandvik’s Digital Mining Technologies division. Drill plans created in Deswik transfer automatically to Sandvik production drill rigs (DL422i, DL422iE, DL432i) [2]. In 2023, Sandvik acquired Polymathian (optimisation algorithms) and integrated it into the Deswik platform [3].
