Overview

Epiroc AB, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, provides mining automation and fleet management solutions for both surface and underground operations.

Epiroc acquired full ownership of Mobilaris MCE in November 2021, integrating its real-time positioning and 3D visualisation technology into the 6th Sense platform [1]. In July 2024, Epiroc completed the full acquisition of ASI Mining, bringing OEM-agnostic autonomous haulage conversion technology in-house [2]. Epiroc opened a Surface Mining Automation Center (SMAC) in Providence, Utah in September 2024 [3].

Converts conventional haul trucks from multiple OEMs to autonomous operation
Supports mixed fleet automation (e.g. Caterpillar and Hitachi trucks in the same fleet)
Deployed at Roy Hill iron ore mine in Western Australia — 78 autonomous trucks (54 Caterpillar, 24 Hitachi) operating 24/7 in dedicated autonomous zones [4]

Autonomous Drilling

Epiroc’s Pit Viper surface drill rigs support autonomous operation using Flanders (ARDVARC) autonomous drilling technology, with over 10 years of autonomous drilling operations [5].
