Overview
MST Global (Mine Site Technologies), founded in 1989 and headquartered in Sydney, Australia, specialises in underground mining communications, tracking, and fleet management. The HELIX Dispatch underground FMS originated from Modular Mining’s DISPATCH Underground product, which was transitioned to MST Global and redeveloped as the HELIX platform.
HELIX Platform
HELIX Dispatch
Fleet management for underground operations [1]:
- Real-time equipment tracking and dispatch
- Production monitoring and reporting
- Task management and scheduling
- Material management — ore and waste tracking from underground to surface with automatic dump assignments and operator alerts to minimise material mixing [1]
- Safety management — hazard identification, equipment safety checks, and location-based risk monitoring [1]
HELIX 3D Connect
Real-time geospatial digital twin for underground mines [2]:
- 3D visualisation of all assets and personnel, surface and underground
- Multiple positioning technologies for underground tracking
- Geofencing with location-based alerts and boundary management
- Reverse tracking for historical analysis
- WiFi and LTE underground network infrastructure
- Real-time data backhaul, voice, and data communications
HELIX Integrated Suite
Underground mine management suite combining dispatch, communications, tracking, and safety systems into a single platform.
WRN MESH
Self-meshing WiFi network extender for underground mining [3]:
- Reduces connectivity blind spots in underground operations
- Intrinsically safe certification for coal mines
- Dual hot-swappable batteries with 120+ hours of operation
- Works in hard rock, coal, and construction environments
PED (Personal Emergency Device)
Through-The-Earth (TTE) emergency communication system, deployed at over 150 mines worldwide [4]:
- Ultra-low frequency transmission through rock strata
- Emergency communication when conventional systems are unavailable
- The only proven TTE communication system in active use across global mining operations
MST Global operates primarily in hard rock and coal underground operations across Australian, Asian, and global markets.
